I was curious how October 7th affected the program, I spoke with the Communications & Development Manager in Israel, she told me it has been an incredibly difficult year and a half for the youth, staff & communities. Navigating the heightened tensions, logistical challenges & emotional toll of the war hasn’t been easy. But, she was so proud to share that their participants have shown extraordinary resilience. Nearly 100% of the teams are back to regular programming. In fact, just days after the war began, many of the youth and their families were already asking when they could return to the court.
Since then, they've continued weekly activities, hosted six major Arab-Jewish Peace League events, held two overnight retreats focused on conflict resolution and leadership, and recently brought a delegation of young Arab and Jewish leaders to the U.S. to share their powerful stories of friendship and courage.
